Use this pattern for capturing employment details, the structure of this data is often dictated by systems outside of the bank.
Employment
Base pattern
This is the pattern in its simplest form, additional fields and questions can be added for specific use cases, ie the details required for completing a credit card application (see usage example below), as opposed updating your information within the secure environment.
Usage example
This example shows the base pattern used with additional questions when further details of employment are required; Employer name and duration.
Error states
The error message should always sit above the input field to give context. The error icon helps draw the eye by disrupting the flow of text at the starting point of the sentence, and aids in accessibility for those who may be colour impaired and not see the colour change.
User experience
Limitations
As credit score criteria is often based off existing external agency databases and data sets (most likely derived from ABS sources), this limits the amount of influence we can have in creating this pattern from a ‘best practise’ approach.
In particular, the data sets provided for Occupation category and Occupation don’t marry up with modern interpretations of vocation with many increasingly common titles absent.
